Nearly all travelers arrive in Bethlehem via Jerusalem.
Shuttle: The Pilgrims home can arrange for a shuttle to pick you up. We can pick you up from Ben Gurion Airport (400 NIS) or we can pick you up from Jerusalem (70 NIS).
By Bus: Bus 21 runs from the bus station at the Damacus Gate in East Jerusalem via Beit Jala to Bethlehem. The average trip length is 20-30 minutes and costs 6.50 NIS.
Shared taxis: (servees) leave from Damascus Gate and manage the trip in 15 minutes.
Airport: From Ben Gurion airport terminal, follow the signs to the Nesher van service and go right to get to the ones for Jerusalem. Vans are waiting at the curb and carry 10-12 people for 50 NIS each. The drivers all speak English, so ask one if he’s going to Jerusalem and if he will take you to Jaffa Gate. To get to Bethlehem from the Jaffa Gate, get onto the side of the road where the cars are going downhill and catch a blue and white bus #21.
Once in Bethlehem, ask a taxi to take you to the “Syriac Church on Manger Street.” It cost 15-20 NIS.
On Foot: Devoted pilgrims often prefer to walk, at a brisk pace the trip is doable in 2 hours but there are plenty of ups and downs along the way and the summer heat is fearsome.
