Bishop Gregorious Boutros Malki is the bishop of the Syriac Catholic Church of the Holy Land. He became a priest in 1965. In 1966, Bishop Gregorious graduated with a degree in
theology from the University of the Holy Spirit in Kaslik, Lebanon. Is master’s degree was in St. Empraim’s teachings.
Bishop Gregorious moved to Rome in 1970 to study Eastern Science with a specialty in Liturgy. He graduated in 1973 and then moved back to Lebanon where he taught Syriac language and theology at the University of the Holy Spirit. 1974, Bishop Gregorious moved to Beirut and served as priest at St. George. He was very active.
In August 1970, Bishop Gregorious attended a conference at Monte Carlo. He was the head representative for Lebanon. He moved to Cananda in 1975 and 1978 he established a Syriac Catholic Parish. Patriarch Antoine II visited in 1981 and promoted Bishop Gregorious.
In 2001, he was elected to be Bishop of Jerusalem. After Bishop Gregorious finished his time in Canada he returned back to Beirut to officially be honored as bishop of Jerusalem in 2002. There were many government officials from around the world that were present at the ceremony. May 24, 2002 Bishop Gregorious moved to Jerusalem.
Bishop Gregorious is a well established author with published works in leading magazines and journals.
