Father Faris Yacoob
Father Faris Yacoob is the priest for both the Jerusalem and Bethlehem parishes. He was born in Mosul, Iraq to a family of 9 children. Fr. Faris graduated from Iraq with a degree
in education. He later studied in Lebanon at Kaslik University, and earned a degree in theology in 1991. That same year Fr. Faris was ordained into the priesthood and served a local parish in Lebanon. In 1994, Fr. Faris moved back to Iraq and served as Vice-Bishop for 5 years. He later went to Rome to study law. He graduated in 2004 with a doctorate degree in law. In 2005, Fr. Faris returned to Mosul, Iraq, where he founded St Ephraim’s Seminary. In 2009, Fr. Faris started his new assignment in the Holy Land.
